Library Policies
Library Cards
Library cards are free to citizens who reside or own property within the Joshua ISD. If you reside outside the Joshua ISD, there is a non-resident fee of $25 per year. A valid state issued driver's license or valid state issued identification card is required along with a secondary proof of residency.
Library Code of Conduct
Library customers are expected to follow these responsibilities to ensure a safe and inviting atmosphere while utilizing all services provided by the Joshua School & Public Library:
- Respect customers and library staff
- Respect library property and materials
- Comply with requests from library staff
- Obey the law
Failure to comply with these expectations may result in suspension of library privileges of the customer.
Loan Periods
Books, audiobooks, and DVDs can be checked out for up to two weeks. Items can be renewed only one time, with the exception of those items with a waiting reserve.
Fines
Overdue items are 10 cents per day per item.
ILLs
Interlibrary loans are available for items not found in our collection. This service is available for library card holders in good standing. Cost of ILLs are $2 per title received.
Computers
A valid library card allows access to our library computers. Library account balances must not be over $5.
Copies
- Black and white copies: 15 cents per copy
- Color copies: 25 cents per copy
- Full color photo: 50 cents per copy
Faxes
- Outgoing faxes: $3 for first page, plus 25 cents for each additional page
- Incoming faxes: $1 for first page, plus 25 cents for each additional page
TexShare
This program allows patrons to borrow directly from other libraries. Joshua School & Public Library cardholders are eligible for a TexShare card after they have been a member of the library with regular monthly usage for at least for 6 months, and are in good standing. TexShare cards are not issued to anyone under 18 years of age.
